Some of Those That Work Forces (2023)
A contained series of 21 paintings depicting the same cartonish, menacing face of a police officer. Creating these pieces was a self-imposed crucible for the artist—an active meditation on the privilege and the mundanity of violence stroke by stroke over a period of months.
This series was produced for a solo exhibition at Solas Studios in Soho NYC. Part painting exhibition, part installation this work aims to create an environment of hostility for attendees, interrogating their relationship with state power.
